As a proud graduate of Banneker High School, Deaundra “DeeDee” Metzger has always understood the importance of legacy, community, and reaching back.
What began as a desire to reconnect with fellow classmates evolved into something much greater. Alongside classmates who shared a passion for giving back, DeeDee helped establish Banneker Class of 1989, Inc. with a vision rooted in purpose, service, and impact.
We realized our connection needed to be about more than reunion gatherings and catching up. We wanted to create something meaningful that would pour back into the school that helped shape us and uplift the students following us.
Today, the organization is committed to investing in future generations through scholarships, student incentives, and community support. Through intentional giving, Banneker Class of 1989, Inc. has provided scholarships to graduating seniors and reward-based initiatives such as gift cards for Trojan Academy students to inspire motivation, achievement, and positive behavior.

As Co Founder of LBI Awards, DeeDee helped build a platform rooted in purpose, designed to recognize artistry, elevate talent, and create opportunities within the beauty industry.
Now celebrating its fourth year in 2027, LBI Awards continues to shine a light on the artists, innovators, and leaders shaping the future of beauty. Through recognition and community, the platform remains committed to elevating excellence and ensuring talent is both seen and celebrated.
